In the article, “A Nation Mourns With Buffalo”(upfront, Smith). I learned that there was a mass shooting in Buffalo, New York. This shooting was a hate crime towards black people. The shooter believed that there are trying to “replace” white American people with people of color or immigrants. He chose to kill people in a supermarket called, Tops Supermarket. This market is known for its black population. He surrendered to the police officers and pleaded not guilty. While he streamed the whole thing, so there is proof of what he has done. People in his hometown have said that he has shown signs of rebellion and odd behavior. Black people are scared and frustrated that they can’t be safe in their own community anymore.
This is the most disturbing thing ever. Knowing that your life can be taken away while going to buy some dinner for your family. People of color should not be afraid of going outside their homes. The families that lost someone in the racist massacre must be in despair right now. It’s sad that instant lives were taken away. White supremacy should end.
