I am from oakland

Where you here gun shots daily

I am from a family of six

Where there always is chaos

I am from a loud house

Where my mom is always punishing one of us

I am from a hard working dad

Where I don’t see him from 5am to 5pm

I am from Brookfield

Where you hear the sound of burning rubber

I’m trynna get the grade

To get paid

I am from where people smoke weed

That’s why they in need

I am from a family that does drugs

But they ain’t no thugs

I am from where I’m trynna make it to the top

Ain’t nobody gonna put a stop

I’m trynna have the skills and bills

To live in Beverly Hills

I’m trynna be wealthy

To help people get healthy

I am from where people care about their looks

But they should about the books
