On November 19, 2019, Florida passed a new amendment. This newly passed law, it would allow Florida residents with a felony to vote, except for sex offenses, or those who’ve committed murder. There are that who support this amendment and those who disliked it. An example of those who are supportive says that they should because it expands voting rights for an estimated 1.4 million people. Individuals who claim that they are against states they shouldn’t because of the lack of poor decision-making they made before.
I fully support the fourteenth amendment that Florida came out with. I think that it’s something mandatory for an individual to get the right to vote in the land where they claim residency but voting rights should be taken away from certain individuals(Mentioned in pp1). Voting is something that is so important because it allows someone to choose people who run in government?
Do you think it was a great idea?
BTW- YOU DECIDE: Voting Rights for Ex-Criminals?
Dear Valarie,
I am very interested by what you wrote it really caught my eye and.I thought you did amazing writing this. “Voting Right for Ex criminal is something that can actually get you thinking about the subject.
One sentence that stood out to me was “An example of those who are supportive says that they should because it expands voting rights for an estimated 1.4 million people. Individuals who claim that they are against states they shouldn’t because of the lack of poor decision-making they made before”. I agree with this because of the lack of poor decisions made before shouldn’t give you the chance to vote now.
Thanks for your writing. I look forward to seeing what you write next,
James
