America has given women the right to vote through the 19th Amendment, yet there are still many obstacles that women of color face, specifically Black women. There has been a lack of representation in America’s political system, which does more harm than good for the future. In recent years, Black women have been rising to the top. But with these actions, comes inequity, racism, harassment, and many more devastating factors. Any given situation, Black women have to bear the most burdens and have the hardest lives to live.
Even though the odds are against them, Black women are tuning into their Blackness and chasing after their dreams, even with all the limitations. Nowadays, we see a lot more Black women holding political office and it’s inspiring. Racial inequality was measured to be more of a pressing issue than the economy; the economy combined with the wealth gap would have tied racial inequality at the top of issues in America (voted by Black women/other officials).

Dear Arual,
I am very interested with your post, “To protect Black women and save America from itself, elect Black women,” because I find it true how the world doesn’t really talk about people of color in politics. We need people to really praise different people in politics so we don’t always have a fight with people based on how they look like. One sentence you wrote that stands out for me is: “ Black women are tuning into their Blackness and chasing after their dreams, even with all the limitations.” I think this is a strong message because many people always talk and have horrible things to say about people of color and this message shows that they won’t let the hate get to them.
Thanks for your writing. I look forward to seeing what you write next because I really liked about a topic many people aren’t really talking about. I also like the words choices that you used in your test

Its inspiring to see that they are chasing after their dreams to accomplish them. Women have been through so much and its good to see that more black women are holding political office.
One sentence you wrote that stood out to me was: ” America has given women the right to vote through the 19th Amendment, yet there are still many obstacles that women of color face, specifically Black women.” Even through women were given the right to vote, they still had a lot of challenges to face.

Dear Arual,
I am amazed by your post, “To protect black women and save America from itself, elect Black women” because it is cool how nowadays, we view huge amounts more African American women holding political office. It is a good thing for individuals to be recognized after their hardships.
One sentence that you wrote that stands out to me is: “Even though the odds are against them, black women are turning into their Blackness and chasing after their dreams.” I think this is awesome for these women to chase their dreams no matter the situation.

Dear Arual,
I agree that although BIPOC people have been given “rights” they still suffer racism, discrimination, and harassment. Especially black women who even in their own communities face discrimination, whether that be in feminism that excludes black women or in the black community where they face colorism. There is a lot of intersectionality that impacts black women’s day to day and nothing is ever done to make a better world for them. That’s why it’s incredibly important to have diversity in office.
If you don’t have any of the community in office that you promise you’re protecting and doing right by then you are actively upholding the very discrimination that you promised to prevent. We need black women in office so that they could have input in our policies; policies that affect their everyday lives. You wouldn’t ask a librarian to help make safety rules for electricians, so why are we asking white men to make policies that concern the livelihood of BIPOC peoples? Representation is a big step in the right direction to creating a better world for minorities.
Thank you for acknowledging how far black women have come even with all that they face. It’s always important to have conversations about the improvements we need in our society!
Dear Arual,
I am very intrigued by your interest in spreading awareness about the accomplishments of black women. Not only does this bring light to the issues they face but it shows them as someone who is the backbone of society. This creates a worldwide inspiration for the African American community. This teaches people that others that there could be all kinds of different communities that can be a part of one whole organization to be in a position of power.
I find it interesting that we are able to get different perspectives, especially from a black woman and not typically a white man. This lets them have different opinions about certain things when it comes to different situations.
Thank you for writing about black women’s accomplishments ! I think it would be important to spread this information about how WOC can make big changes to the world.

Dear Arual,
I am intrigued by your post, “To Protect Black Women and Save America From Itself, Elect Black Women” because it brings awareness to the fact that in order for Black women to see a change they need to be the change and we can help them get there. Being the change and fighting for what they want is the only way they will be heard because America had ignored them and pushed them away for long enough.
One sentence you wrote that stands out to me is, “Even though the odds are against them Black women are turning into their blackness and chasing after their dreams, even with all the limitations.” I think it is important and inspiring because they are not letting anything get in the way even though the journey to get what they want is filled with obstacles. This shows others that they shouldn’t stop from chasing what they want and fulfilling their goals.
Thank you for your writing. I look forward to seeing what you wrote next because it brings awareness to real world problems. It also inspiring ti others to never settle for less.

Dear Arual,
I am interested in your post, “To protect Black women and save America from itself, elect Black women” because the fact that Black women have the hardest lives to live is very true and a very big problem. It’s a problem that isn’t really spoken about or taken seriously by people so it’s very good that you wrote about it.
One sentence that stands out to me is: “Even though the odds are against them, Black women are tuning into their Blackness and chasing after their dreams, even with all the limitations.” I think this is very inspiring and heartwarming because even with all the odds that are against them they are still striving for their dreams.

Dear Andrea,
I agree with your post. The way you mention to protect women. That the black women’s have the hardest lives.
The quote you have used in your sentence is a great way to describe what is happening. That they have their own limitation.
