In the article “More than half of the US teachers think being armed makes students feel less safe, report finds’ ‘ , I learned how in the US alone the average teacher feels that being armed is not only inadequate but also creating a bigger problem for safety concerns in the classroom. The author touches on studies showing more than a half of US teachers feel being armed makes students feel less safe and take their focus off of the classroom.. However this being said, that doesn’t mean all teachers believe in this opinion as an estimate of 550,000 countries teachers from K to 12 teachers choose to carry a firearm. . The author mentions how the conversation isn’t new however it is reiterated every year as these incidents continue to rise.

My personal opinion on the matter is the rise of gun violence will be stopped by simply the teaching been armed as well I believe all that would do is create another target for the active shooter knowing that the teachers arm and there’s not only push the teacher in jeopardy but creates a false sense of safety as students will believe the teacher is protecting them the average person wants to help but the matter is these teachers are not putting their life on the line for a student they barely know it is human instinct preserve their own life. Not to mention we as a society are already dealing with corrupt teachers and the army and these corrupt teachers are bound to make the situation worse.
