Unsophisticated Love

Influenced by the Lyric “Unsophisticated Love” by Matt Burton

Messes with my feelings, but I’m down for the ride.

Hot bodies pile in,

The engines ignites,

Music connects and gears shift to drive.

We stay lonely together.

Gone within the same day,

Frigid wind hits my face as sheets of glass roll down slowly,

With same breath moving my hair into my face,

Ended up in an evolving canyon.

Twisted roads leading to a undecided destination,

Seasons transform on the opposing side the windshield.

Rhythm transferred from the stereo to my body,

Our bodies move in unison as we shout familiar lyrics.

Smiles are emitted

From each being,

As spirals of gold turn the atmosphere warm,

An exuberant nature reflects the one outside.

The cerulean sky transforms to magenta,

Long roads help us escape the reality we know.

Looking in the rear view mirror,

There are no castles in these backlit clouds.

Unsophisticated love.

You can really feels the words in this poem. The effort and time you put in was really shown well in your work. With many different analogies and irony in your work, it is great. Here is a source that can better help you with this in the future https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2848468/
