The Mother of the Holocaust, a True Hero: Irena Sendler

A nurse named Irena Sendler from Warsaw, Poland was living her normal life until the threat of the invasion of Poland by the Germans. Irena knew that this news was dangerous and serious trouble. She knew that most Jews would be sent to the nearby death camp, Treblinka, and was sure that all children would be annihilated. Irena set out to the new Warsaw ghetto and bribed families of Jewish children to give them up in order to save them and keep them alive and healthy. It was hard on the parents and guardians but they knew what had to be done.
