galaxy at night

A scary yet vague question, I know, but is there a specific time in which we suspect the world will actually end? Most of us know about Mayan Civilizations prediction of the end of the world, but obviously that never came true.

Before researching this, I was expecting more of a concise, to the point answer. But that is not the case, as it is impossible to predict exactly when it will happen. The best guess is many many many centuries from now, if it even happens, as in whether or not it continues to expand. One day it will be stretched so far, that it may just curl into itself, effectively killing itself.

Hey Madi, this is definitely an interesting question that has been in the air for quite some time now. It can really be an abstract concept as well. I understand that the date of the end of the world is so unclear, but I think that might be a good thing too. Though to the point answers can give us clarity, in this case I think it’s better if we stay in the dark on this one personally. It’s crazy though that one day the world could just “curl in on itself” so to speak. It’s a very interesting concept with a lot of unanswered questions unfortunately. Thanks for posting, this was really interesting Madi!

Dear Madison,

I am impressed with your post, “The End of the World, When Will it Happen?” because it is very interesting because your topic is when the world will end and we humans will never know because it is super mysterious. It is impressive how the world we live in will have a very unpredictable future of when it will end.

One sentence that you wrote that caught my attention was: “One day it will be stretched so far that it may just curl into itself, effectively killing itself.” I believe this is a very important sentence in all of your post because we will never know when it will expand and stretch as far as it can until one day it will just kill itself.

Thanks for your writing. I look forward to seeing what you write next because I like the way that you used your words in telling your reader the importance of what you are gonna post about. I would like to know more about your predictions about how or will the world end.

Hi Madi,

This is a very deep question and I like that this was the topic you came up with. The idea that the universe could end soon scares me, but I feel slightly relieved when I hear that most people think it will end far in the future. I did not really realize that the universe is constantly being stretched out, or that it could even fold in on itself.

Thanks for your writing. I look forward to reading more of your work in the future!

Pretty interesting thought and question Madison, this question I’m sure everyone’s thought about sometime but even if the world did end it could end at any time. I don’t think we will be here when it happens thankfully. We will just have to watch over as the world ends in time or even who knows. I really like this thought because, it kinda makes you think how or what could happen and when being the scariest. Fear is what drives these thoughts along with curiosity, its mostly the fear of the unknown because we could blink and all the sudden the world could as you say “kill itself”. Great topic 🙂

The end of the world is very different topic depending on what you define the “world” as. Civilizations have ended before. But what about all civilization? Could humanity continue on if the current civilized world collapsed? Would the death of humanity be the “end of the world”? The earth/world itself could exist long past humans, but what if it was destroyed, perhaps by a giant meteor? What about our solar system, universe, etc. ? Could the world be prevented from ending if humanity spread to other planets? But that’s the macro. There’s also the micro. For instance, the death of a loved one or a sudden, drastic change in someone’s living situation could be considered the end of someone’s world. Interesting topic.

I’ve found your topic to be very interesting. Yeah, the Mayan prediction of the extinction of our civilization didn’t come true. There is two way to approach your question is that when is the end of human civilization or the end of the universe. Based on our knowledge, the universe has been here forever, we probably wouldn’t know the answer to when will the universe disappear. I have watched a video about what would happen to the world if humans were extinct. After hundreds of years, there would be very little evidence of our existence and the world is back to primitive. Then, a new civilization will appear. Your topic is really intriguing, there could be more different predictions that I would like to read about.
