In the article, “Elephant Express,” (BTW 2022) I learned that in a certain region there are elephants that are near extinction. However, in the Okavango Delta region of eastern Botswana, there are nearly as many elephants as there are people. In that specific region, it can lead to problems such as humans getting injured or possibly killed by the elephants because they get scared. There are many kids who have to walk through elephant territory to get to school and they wanted to make it safe for everyone to be able to feel safe. That is why they made an Elephant Express which is a bus route that goes in between the elephant’s territory and in a safer way.
My opinion on this is that the Elephant Express is a great idea for kids and adults to travel safely to their destinations. It also benefits them so that neither the elephants nor the humans get injured along the way. In addition to this, it creates a great sightseeing view for the people riding on the buses.
How else can we protect the elephants and humans in their own environment?
