In the article, “Nothing to lose” (Upfront,Smith 2022) a lady was seen with a loose scarf with a revealing dress was taken by Iran’s morality police and put into a van being taken away to a detention center. Where three days later she was found dead on September 16. Her death outraged women from Iran to create a revolution so her name wouldn’t be forgotten. Dozens of cities are out to protest chanting “Women, Life, and freedom!” as well as “Death to the dictator!” – referring to Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
To my mind it seems to me this is harash it puts Iran women under pressure for wearing something not under the dress code where you can end up dead. I think it’s time they put up a fight in their own country. Stand up for their rights and they deserve a change. For all the deaths that come with putting a fight it should serve for the justice that comes with it in the end. In the U.S we have our freedom as in other countries we have to fight for our freedom.
What are your thoughts against this situation should women be free to wear what they want?
