I thought I’d awaken to a sky of silver.
Heavy clouds covering the shining snow river.
But there’s something bright and it makes me quiver.
Something magical in the sunlight, nothing that could make me shiver.
–
I see the wispy clouds wisp away.
Across the ether I see the darkness trying to stay.
Like a light this sight cannot be broken, but can fray.
Time and a breeze make the sight turn into a blurry display.
–
Skies ignite with the colors of life, confident and free.
Just as it does, so can we.
–
Emotions can make us quiver,
feeling of a shiver,
our life over time starts to wisp itself away.
Into something, not anything like we saw before, all in a fray.
Our world becomes just one big blurry display.
–
But we can look past it, and like the world around us,
Be confident and free.
Life leads us on a one way path.

In the Style of Amanda Gorman’s “The Miracle of Morning”
The ryming makes me moan
I love this, I love the way your words flow and the imagery I get from the first half
I like how it rhymes and that you use the last words to contradict the second part of your poem. I like how thoughtful and vivid this poem is. I could imagine parts of the poem in my mind.
Sri! I love this! Your diction and syntax are impeccable. I love the beautiful image of nature you create and the message of hope and regaining confidence. Continue writing!
