Pediatrician Dolly Lucia Sevier was a suspect to the treatment of children found at border detention facilities in McAllen Texas. The separation of kids from their parents has been highly seen ever since the Trump administration enacted a strict policy calling for the arrest of adults illegally crossing the border charging them as criminals. Children were said to live in a more stable place, being able to receive an education. I’m reality pictures serve as evidence showing otherwise following to the end of the separation policy in June 2018. Despite the end of this policy, removal still continues to happen separating kids from their parents or guardians. These actions are discouraging many immigrants in search of a stable life from coming into the United States because they’re scared of being sent back to their home country or of being separated from their families and loved ones. One of the detainees named Mateo states, “ We are housed in a room with dozens of other children-some as young as 2…Our clothes are the same clothes that we had on when we arrived. We have not been given soap.” Kids come into the United States hoping to escape the violence and corruption from their home countries only to be detained and kept in jail like facilities.
The treatment of children is horrifying and disgusting to watch and even listen to. Children are barely growing up and shouldn’t suffer from today’s corrupt world. Kids deserve to grow up with a family, in a good, stable home away from violence and mistreatment. The United States is said to be the “land of the free” but for thousands of immigrant detainees is but the opposite of that statement. With horrible treatment, bad conditions, no food, no family, it is but a disappointment thinking about a better like in America.
Do you believe immigrant families should be separated from their loved ones?

It is sad that families are separated. We live in the country which we say it is the land of the free yet it takes so long to get papers. The progress takes forever and when people say well why don’t they come here legally? It is like the fear and sometimes everyone’s situation is different.
It is really sad and a change that needs to happen in this world right now. Innocent children are being stripped away from there families. If the United States is truly the land of the free, they should let Immigrants be free. The everyday necessities are being stripped away from kids and families they have no food, water and no family. I believe that immigrant families shouldn’t be separated from they’re loved ones. Immigrants aren’t criminals yet people like ICE are treating them like criminals.
It really is sad. The waking up every morning and the unknowing feeling if you’ll see your family again.
I agree with the article that kids deserve to grow up with a family, in a good, stable home away from violence and mistreatment. When reports are filed on child abuse, the government is in charge of removing the child from that environment and obligated to find a new home and family for the child. It is disgusting to see that our own President, is abusing hundreds of young children. Nobody deserves to be contained in cages. Nobody deserves to be degraded. American citizen or not, they are human.
It’s horrifying that the children are being taking away from there families who are marked as criminals. Currently, most of the children are in the cages like animals. They have no way of talking to member of their families and none of their needs are there. if the untied states is dubbed “the land of the free”, then why are in concentration camps. I believe that the children should be with their families.
