In the article, “17 Facts About Gun Violence And School Shootings” (Sandy Hook Promise 2020) I learned that schools in America are in serious threat of shootings. 338,000 students in america have experienced gun violence in school. Many school shooters have put out warning signs, for example they out concerning images and messages. Bystanders have seen these warning signs but fail to report it. In fact 4 out of 5 school shootings there was at least one person who had known about the attacker plan but failed to report it. School shootings are becoming such an issue that in 2022 there were more school shootings in a year since Columbine.
I think what is happening in America is a school shooting crisis. It must be horrible to feel like there is no safety in your school. Guns are becoming a culture in America. The question is how could we prevent school shootings from happening. A country where your daughters and sons cannot go to school safe is a serious issue.
As I continue to learn about school shootings in America , I want to know more about why do students shoot up schools.
