In the article, “School media free speech case” I learned that students upload thoughts in social media. This is a horrible thing for students because they end up getting bullied or threaten another. It has also been hard for schools to stop people posting bad things on social media. Some examples: “ she published an angry social media post that included curse words and an image and an image of her and a friend raising their middle fingers.”
I think what is happening is the schools should let students have the right to regulate their online student speech, even when it occurs off- campus. It must be horrible to feel that you cannot use your speech for the good in life. it ‘s hard to imagine that you get bullied online and at school you don’t and you are just trying to get help from the school. That the school helped the student to find her bully.
Dear Arlette,
I am moved by your post, “School Media,” because this is true about today’s social media. The media has always been like this, masks to hide from your crimes.
One sentence you wrote that stands out to me is “they end up getting bullied or threaten another.” I think this is true because it happens on every platform, from it being a grown adults to a teenager.
Thanks for your writing. I look forward to seeing what you write next because this topic is necessary to stop future generations from being toxic on social media. Many bad influences are in social media which can end up getting kids bullied and I wish to see more awareness from you.
Dear Arlette,
I am very intrigued by your post, “School Media,” because it brings awareness towards cyberbullying. I truly believe that a change needs to be made in our school systems in order for students to no longer do this.
One sentence you wrote that stands out for me is, “This is a horrible thing for students because they end up getting bullied or threatened another. It has also been hard for schools to stop people from posting bad things on social media.” I think this is interesting because social media is a big part of our lives but it can also lead to negative things.
Thanks for your writing. I look forward to seeing what you write next because I was very intrigued by the topic of cyberbullying and the effects that social media has on our lives today.
