In the article, “Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.“ (McGraw Hill) I learned more about how he was a key leader during the civil rights movement. His parents were heavily religious so this had inspired him to become a minister. From here he grew up believing in nonviolent resistance which can support his nonviolent protests during the Civil Rights Movement in the 1960s.
I believe that it is very important to look back from time to time to political or historical figures. This is because without them who knows how our country would be today if it weren’t for them. Therefore, it is crucial to look back at our history and past in order to remember those who greatly impacted our country.
