In the article, “Religion and Politics,” by Christopher Callaway he informs us that religion and government will always clash with each other. There have been arguments about whether or not the government should be secular or shouldn’t. But this text shows us that it is very hard to do so. The text goes on to show us many court cases where this occurred. Not only that but it also showed us about toleration between religions.

I think that this is a very important topic because our government has many laws that are connected with religion. I believe that we should all have the same amount of freedom as said in the text about John Locke’s letter where he discusses that if it isn’t harming anyone it shouldn’t be of a concern. But there are times were religion breaks laws by the government.

In this article, it was concluded that government and religion will always clash. So far I think the same but as I learn more about this topic I wonder if my opinion will change.
