I chose Othello by Shakespeare. Particularly act 1, scene 3, lines 208-218. I recorded myself as Desdemona, and found that tone, inflection, and pacing have a very large impact on the emotion of the reading. Through recording myself, I was better able to understand Desdemona’s purpose in speaking with Brabantio. As a daughter she used a tone of utmost respect, however she also held a superiority that proved she is her own woman now. Photo by ErgSap
