512BF4D5-8C4F-4690-A111-C683454794CBThe play I chose was Othello and the passage I read from is 5.2.397-406. The character I played was Othello. The passaged I recited takes place quickly after Othello had strangled Desdemona because he had believed that she cheated on him with Cassio. Soon after Desdemona dies, Othello learns that he was lied to by Iago and is deeply sorry.

Reciting this passage showed me the angst that Othello felt towards Iago, as well as the regret that he felt towards bringing harm to the person that he loved, Desdemona. Othello’s main trait is that he lets his emotions flow wildly, which can be good and bad. He is an overly passionate person about the people in his life, but if someone wrongs him then he acts in a very extreme manner.
