My noble father,

I do perceive here a divided duty:

To you I am bound for life and education;

My life and education both do learn me

How to respect you; you are the lord of duty;

I am hitherto your daughter: but here’s my husband,

And so much duty as my mother show’d

To you, preferring you before her father,

So much I challenge that I may profess

Due to the Moor my lord.

I see a conflict here

I want to live my life freely and also focus hard on school

How can I live up to your will; You are my father;

I am always there for your daughter, but have a husband too,

I have so much to do as my mother has shown me

I am loyal to you before her

I challenge many things I regret

but it is due to my health father.

My mother had a maid call’d Barbara:

She was in love, and he she loved proved mad

And did forsake her: she had a song of ‘willow;’

An old thing ’twas, but it express’d her fortune,

And she died singing it: that song to-night

Will not go from my mind; I have much to do,

But to go hang my head all at one side,

And sing it like poor Barbara. Prithee, dispatch.

My mom had a maid named Barbara

She was in love with a man who was not to friendly

He abandoned her and she was very distraught

There was something old that satisfied her

She loved singing the song

That memory will remain with me even though I have so much to remember

I need get rid of all this pain brought to me

And I need to sing the song like barbara who is peaceful now
