The White House has suggested many ways to help prevent Covid 19 from spreading. Some suggestions they have made are vaccinations, masks, social distancing, and social distancing. However there might be something new such as an antiviral drug from Pfizer called Paxlovid. Paxlovid was first authorized to use in December 2021, the drug has proved to reduce the risk of COVID- hospitalizations by %90. It is approved for people over 12 years old who can have severe complications. Pharmacists believed that it was scarce, and did not want to give it to just any person. However, now the Biden administration is working with Pfizer to produce more and has bought 20 million doses. Paxlovid is distributed as three pills which a patient takes twice a day for five days. However, only doctors who know the patients complete medical history can prescribe paxlovid because of it’s side effects. What do you think about this new COVID drug should it be given to everyone?
