I am Sheharyar Anwar. I am 17 years old. I was born in Pakistan and my city name is Gujrat. I love learning the English language. My turning point was to come to America for higher studies, but leaving my country was a very sad time for me. My mom is alone because I am in America right now. I miss home, where there were beautiful date trees that my grandfather brought from Kuwait 44 years ago.
My dad’s name is Muzammal Hussain. He was a lawyer in Pakistan but now he drives a yellow cab and I live with him in Midwood, Brooklyn. My mom’s name is Farzana Kousar. She is a house wife and she still lives in Pakistan. When I moved to Brooklyn, I gained my best friend Zeze, who is like a big brother to me. I am very lucky to have my dad to take good care of me in America.
My greatest strengths are that I play snooker (pool) very well, I adapt to new environments very quickly, I go to class or everywhere in time. I am a responsible person. I take good care of my mom and dad. I am working to communicate in the English language. My greatest achievement was to be selected to be in a speech competition of Urdu judges in my school. My school name is Jinnah Public School and College Hafiz Hayat Gujrat and the name of the speech topic was Allama Iqbal. My next goal is to graduate from PSC.
