In the article, “Can We Save Monarch Butterflies?” (Upfront, 2022) I learned that the monarch butterfly is an endangered species. Monarch butterflies have been declining for decades. Monarch butterflies are going extinct more now due to habitat destruction, climate change, and increase in use of certain herbicides. I also learned that more people are now planting milkweed which is helping the monarch butterflies.
I think that monarch butterflies being an endangered species is something really devastating because they are such a beautiful species. It is also really sad to see that they are declining due to climate change because climate change is a really big problem that is affecting everyone and anything in any way. It’s good to see though that others care about monarch butterflies because they are plating many plants to help the monarch butterflies survive.
Is there anything people can do on a day to day basis to save monarch butterflies?
