Recently, I read mockingjay, by Suzanne Collins. I enjoyed this book because it was very nerve racking and exciting.
The protagonist is katniss everdeen. Her story is set in first at district 13, then the capitol, specifically in panem. The significance of district 13 setting is that it’s the starting point as katniss develops a rebellious plan, it’s important that it starts there because many factors are involved that affect katniss’ decisions like the unpredictable president of the district. The significance of the setting shifting from district 13 to the capitol is that she creates a plan to kill the inhumane president that forced her to play a piece in his games,
Katniss faces certain forces and pressures. Katniss and her team try to escape life threatening traps as they try to get to the heart of the capital, where president Snow is. She meets these forces and pressures by deciding to fight the threats that she has experienced before in her past hunger games. She tries to defend her team with one of her best skills of accurate shooting with a bow and arrows. She leads her team with the help of her holographic gadget and makes important decisions on their next moves, and leadership skills. You can see this early in the book on page 53 of part III: “The assassin”.
The tension rises when repeating situations happen where her closest friends sacrifice their lives while they focus on putting katniss’ safety first, and die to prevent her death. This might leave a reader feeling heartbroken as all her crew mates slowly disintegrate due to her fabricated mission. Especially when Katniss, unconscious of her team’s goals of preserving her life as she watched each of her closest friends die, is incapable of protecting them and blames herself for it.
The book climaxes when Katniss unexpectedly kills president Coin who’s on the same side as her, the rebel side, when her target is snow. “I feel the bow purring in my hand. Reach back and grasp the arrow. Position it, aim at the rose, but watch his face. He coughs and a bloody dribble runs down his chin. His tongue flicks over his puffy lips. I search his eyes for the slightest sign of anything, fear, remorse, anger. But there’s only the same look of amusement that ended our last conversation. It’s as if he’s speaking the words again. “Oh, my dear Miss Everdeen. I thought we had agreed not to lie to each other.” He’s right. We did.The point of my arrow shifts upward. I release the string. And President Coin collapses over the side of the balcony and plunges to the ground. Dead.”
The falling action ultimately resolves the conflict. The satisfying resolution of the story results in her being sent back to her home, district 12, unpunished, while her acquaintances get high official jobs due to her killing of president coin. it’s a person v. self type of conflict that’s driving this story. when katniss finally stops blaming herself for all the deaths caused by her, and allows herself to live. Despite Katniss’ doubts that Peeta will never look at her the same way because of everything he’s experienced, he eventually does, and they become a happy family with two children.

I think that is also important to mention that she killed coin because she saw that she was not looking for equality. This relates to now because it is important that we don’t try to become more powerful we should try to make everybody equal.
Dear, kaimea I read all of the hunger gamebooks and movies I want to ask you how did you feel when she killed president coin and I agree with you is person v self type of conflict because ever death of a character or player in the hunger games that she was friend with she thought it was her fault.
