In the article, “Raising the Minimum” (McGraw Hill) I learned that the federal minimum wage is 7.25 an hour.   This horrible situation has been difficult to survive on that amount of money, even for the full-time workers.  It has also been caused to struggle with its rent and its utilities.  Some examples is that raising the minimum wage could have a negative impact on the economy or small businesses, as payrolls for many employers would increase.

I think what is happening around the world is a huge crisis.  It must be horrible to feel there is no hope about hiring minimum wage.  It’s hard to imagine families worrying not being financially stable and being able to provide for their families.

Do you believe they should hire minimum wage?

Hello Hanady,
It is definitely a difficult question as to rather or not they should raise the minimum wage. The way the US handles waiters’ tips is certainly not the best way to fix the situation, but it relieves some of the stress on small businesses and waiters still make money. As I said it’s not perfect but it kind of helps balance things out.
