In the article, “A Day Off for Mental Health ” (Upfront, Caron, 2022) i learned that many student throught out their high school year struggle with mental health. This is something sad to hear about the exact numbers of student that struggle with their mental health. There so many schools that have many students so lets imagine how many student are in school. The amount of meantakl health numbers went up after covid because people were finally talking about it. Schools are doing a little to nothing to keep students safe for example some states are now allowing students to declare a mental health day  Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Maine, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Virginia have all passed bills permitting students to be absent from school for mental or behavioral health reasons.

I think school shoud start focusing this problem because many student are staying quit from this problem. It must be horrible to feel there is no hope.  It sad to see that the state of children’s mental health had worsened over the past decade. Between 2009 and 2019, an increasing percentage of American youth reported feeling sad or hopeless for at least two weeks. We need to start a change before the suidcide rates start going up.

Should states be more worried about mental health?
