This is such a great idea. Many teens join gangs because it is there only place to go and many of them feel as though they are truly cared for by the other members. It is great to utilize other options like school clubs, sports, etc to show these kids that there are other places they can go to receive the attention they need.
I think this is a great idea. A friend of mine started a group like this and it turned out to be a great way for people to openly talk about the difficult things they are experiencing in their lives. It was a safe place which made everyone know they wouldn’t be judged but that they would receive the listening ear they needed. This is such a…[Read more]
I totally agree with your stance on this issue. It is so heartbreaking to constantly see these things consuming our timelines and news headlines. It is so important in our world today and with the political issues we are currently facing, to pay attention to this and make it right.
We use water in almost everything we do every day of our lives. We drink it, we cook with it, we bathe in it, we grow food with it, we clean our cars with it, the list goes on. Considering all the things we use
We are quickly running out of fresh water in our world. It is said that by 2050, we will no longer have any fresh water because of “the Western world’s meat centered diet.” Although I am not currently veget
I recently took part in an experiment that tested drivers using a simulator to test reaction time when on the phone, texting, and when fully paying attention. It was crazy to see how your reaction time is affected and how easily you can put yourself and others in danger by simply looking down at your phone even just for a second. Nice job!
I’m so glad you’re interested in researching sexism and women’s rights because it is something that is all too real in our society today. It is important to be aware of these issues and to see what can be done to change them. I think its important to also further your research with actual victims of these events to help strengthen the point you…[Read more]
I completely agree with your point and would love to see a woman like that in charge. She is so strong and independent that she not only would be an amazing role model to our generations to come, but to those participating in society today. Michelle Obama has been involved in politics for many years and has even experiences life inside the White…[Read more]
Hi Anna! I completely agree with the fact that we need much more sleep than we have the time for. With all of our priorities and responsibilities that we have to constantly stay on top of, it’s hard to make enough time to unwind and relax. The lack of sleep that we teenagers get can hinder our ability to perform to our potential in school and in…[Read more]
I was blown away by how you wrote this. It’s so powerful. I agree with how you showed that girls are taught to not tempt a boy instead of boys being taught to simply respect a girl. This is such a huge issue in our world today and not enough people stand up for it to make a real difference. It’s important to face the harsh realities of…[Read more]
I agree with your post and the heartbreak that this issue involves. There are people who find joy out of hunting these animals and it seems incredibly unjust. I hope there can be more people who rise up against this and try to do what they can to stop it. Instead of allowing endangered animals to be hunted as an activity, we should help…[Read more]
This is a youth-powered social network that was started in 2003 by a group of teachers from local sites of the National Writing Project.
We merged several earlier blogging projects. We have found that there are many advantages to bringing students together in one site that lives beyond any particular class. It's easier for individual students to read and write about their own passions, to connect with other students, comment on each other's work, and create multimedia posts for each other. Further, it's been exciting for us to pool our knowledge about curriculum, connected learning, and digital literacies.
If being part of such a community makes sense to you, we invite you to join us. We welcome all youth and any teacher interested in having students publish online and participate in the give and take of a social network like Youth Voices.
