  • I completely agree with you about how we have created our own pollution and that it is our fault that the world is suffering. It is insane to think about how much pollution comes just from America. Certain parts of the U.S. have air qualities that are suffering because of how much pollution we are creating. I was shocked when you mentioned that…Read More

  • I really appreciate you speaking out about this problem! I completely agree with you about how uniforms are too expensive and hard to find. My family has struggled to obtain me a uniform for the past couple years and when we found someplace that had my size, it was incredibly expensive. I like how you brought up that being able to wear what you…Read More

    • Hey Shaw great article I do agree we have become to reliant on elections in a negative and positive way keep writing good are articles

    • I like how you mentioned that some businesses need electronics in order to function in their everyday lives. I also like how you mentioned that there are some bad uses for social media and the bad uses generally come from people who use social media as a luxury.

    • I think that electronics themselves are a great invention, but I do think that the development of things such as social media has negatively impacted our mental health in a debilitating way. Social media sounds good at first but it eventually evolves to a point where we constantly compare ourselves to others.

    • Dear Shawn:

I was excited to read this post seeing as I have recently been thinking about this topic quite often. For me, I can, without a doubt, say electronics have affected me both positively and negatively all throughout my life. On one hand, they have allowed me to be inspired, make friends, and have opened me up to many opportunities that are out in the world. On the other hand, there have definitely been times where my electronics have taken a toll on my mental health since the internet can be a very toxic place.

However, you are also right in that, with things like schools and businesses, electronics are very important so it’s not as though we can just give them up. I feel that maybe it is more of an individual choice to better your own well being.

Thank you for your writing. It was a good reminder to take some time off my electronics!

    • Dear Shawn, I was amazed by this post because I believe I’m too reliant on my phone. I don’t learn routes to go places when driving because of GPS. I also don’t care to remember my timetables because I have a calculator. I also don’t like to read books I would much rather listen to them.

One sentence you wrote that stand out to me was, “It also depends upon how much electronics play into certain people’s lives because it could influence their opinions or their arguments towards this topic.” it stands out to me because what you said is very true the level of attachment you have to your phone is the level you think you depend on it.

Thanks for writing on such an interesting topic and I will look forward to further post from you.

    • Dear Shawn,

I find your discussion post “Have We Become Too Reliant on Electronics?” fascinating! Mainly because of all the great points you made regarding such matter. Not to mention how neutral you were in your stance.

One sentence you wrote that stands out for me is “These said wants or desires tend to become very controlling in our daily lives and nobody seems to notice.” because I think this is something many can identify with.

Thanks for your writing. I look forward to seeing what you write next, because of how well you articulate yourself. And also your selection of interesting topics to cover.

    • Dear Shawn,

I find your discussion post “Have We Become Too Reliant on Electronics?” interesting. I agree with you when you say that just as there are as many good things there are also bad things regarding electronics. I think it’s just a matter of being conscious of how dependent you are on your electronics.

One sentence that stood out to me was, “These said wants or desires tend to become very controlling in our daily lives and nobody seems to notice.”. This stood out to me because I myself feel like I’m super reliant on my electronics especially when it comes to homework.

Thank you for writing this post. I look forward to seeing what you write next.

    • Dear Shawn,

I like your take on this topic. You hit some points that are pretty crucial to understanding the reliance we have on electronics. Almost everything now is seemingly connected to something electronic/internet-related, however, it’s more of how you think of our reliance. I personally would say that our reliance is a good thing, and it goes to show how much we have grown as a civilization, and utilize all that we as humans can. If we didn’t have to rely on electronics and still maintain the same level of technology/production/etc. then that would be great, however, we live in a world where that won’t happen.

All in all, your post had good questions, and I was eager to answer them. (Obviously.)

    • Dear Shawn,

I am intrigued by your post regarding technology use. This has become a huge part of our lives and has consumed most of every country that has been in use. This has changed a lot of lives and perspectives good and bad, it doesn’t really matter how much you consume because it will be everywhere for you to acknowledge it.

In my opinion, I do think people are consumed by social media to the point where it could be unhealthy. This can cause damage in relationships and to one’s mental/physical health. I can still remember the days when social media wasn’t present in my life and I can make a comparison on how it affects the younger generation but even adults.

Thanks for writing about our consumption of social media. I look forward to seeing what else you have to say about our generation as a whole.

    • Dear Shawn,

I am interested in your writing “Have We Become Too Reliant On Electronics?”, because it opens up a new perspective on this issue. Electronics have become a huge part of the lives of most people, and nowadays having a phone is necessary. One sentence that truly did capture my attention was “This could honestly go either way, there are so many good things and an almost equal number of bad things that can be brought about by electronics” I believe this to be true, even though stuff like phones, computers, and other devices are helpful to people, they cant also be time-consuming and can slow productivity.
Thank you for writing this and I look forward to reading more of your future writings because you have a different view on electronics than a majority of people. You are willing to see that these “helpful” devices are also prone to causing issues. It all depends on the person and how they use it.

    • Dear Shawn,

I am impressed with your post, “Have We Become Too Reliant on Electronics?” because electronics are something that really destroys our social life since it is something that we get attached too much to. I agree with you because there are many people out there who use electronics for purposes other than those who just use it to use it because they are addicted to it.

One sentence that you wrote that stood out to me was, “This could honestly go either way, there are so many good things and an almost equal number of bad things that can be brought about by electronics.” I agree with you that there are pros and cons about electronics and that electronics tend to be used for important things but they also tend to be used as a want or desire.

Thank you for your writing. I look forward to what your opinions are in other aspects of our everyday lives. I would also like to know if you are someone who uses their electronics for a long period of time.

  • Thanks for your writing Dominic, I found it to be very compelling. I never really thought about it until I read your post but it is very true.
