This topic was very interesting because I did not know their was people out their that advocate for gun rights even after everything that has happen in the U.S. The writers had very good points that they brought up on why people should not advocate for gun rights. They brought up all the school shootings that has happen in all level of schools…Read More

Dear Elizabeth💕❤
Thank you, for taking the time to write to me but I disagree with you on freedom of speech should be limited.
One sentence that stood out to me was “yes it is your first amendment right to say what you want but, you should not be able to say something if it will hurt someone’s feelings” I disagree with this statement because you have the right to say what you want and it’s not your fault that people get offended by it.😠 As adults you should be the grown up and don’t worry about what students have to say about you behind your back.😈
I understand if it was a different adult but that is a whole different story compared to students doing it.
I really appreciate you writing to me because I can see where you stand compared to where I stand with you
I hope next time I write another post we can see eye to eye on where I stand thank you so much😂😂

Dear sebastian : I am interested by your article should schools limit students online speech because it brings up the topic when should schools step in to stopping online speech. This also brings up the question should students have their constitutional rights on campus.
one sentence you wrote that stands out for me is “the first reason is there was no effect on teachers” this is interesting because i think it affects everyone differently and we shouldn’t just look at this one example.
Thanks for your writing i look forward to seeing what you write next because you had a good article explaining your ideas. you also were not biased when writing this article.Ricardo

Dear Sebastian:
I am impressed by your post, “Should Schools limit Students online speech ” because I agree with the point you are getting across. For example, cyber bullying lowers people’s self esteem. As well as their privacy being invaded.
One sentence you wrote that stands out for me is: ” 38.6% of the people surveyed it had no effect. ”. I think this is agreeable because when many people have low self esteem it leads to depression which can also sadly lead to suicide, this number shows that majority of people do see effects. Also, nobody should ever feel bad about themselves because we are supposed to be confident in ourselves and how we are. Thanks for your writing. I look forward to seeing what you write next, because you explain yourself really well. You also have good facts on what you’re saying and you back yourself up well.

Hi, I clicked on this because of the Elon Musk meme and I am only a little disappointed. I guess that it is just an exercise of your free speech that should completely be protected by the first amendment. Most schools cannot and do not punish bullying outside of school, so I think that allowing schools to punish cyber bullying that happens outside of school almost encourages real bullying. You don’t really have enough emphasis on this, in my opinion, to go along with the court rulings. You could say it is a step in the wrong direction and you could say that there are actual reasons to go along with this action.
I also agree that this helps people grow up, in that we have to get used to being made fun of, in some form or another. We could always have a future boss that hates us just because they do, and I don’t want that to ruin everything past that person. Also, I think that this allows for people to turn it around and get a sense of humor. People have a typical reaction of going along with the masses, and if the masses make fun of you, the funniest one is usually the person saying something funny of themselves. I was commonly joked about Freshman year by everybody on all the sports teams that I was on, and I realized that it was more out of love than anything else a little later. If we take away this right to free speech, it may make people not realize that this teasing typically comes out of love, not hate.
I know that there are viable arguments on both sides, so here is a link that shows that a little

Sebastian, You have a solid amount of statistics to support your argument that schools don’t have the right to limit online speech. I think the part of your argument that focuses on the first amendment is the most concrete. You could elaborate on how a student’s expression of free speech needs to be substantially disruptive to the school environment and institutional functioning for the school to have enough jurisdiction to discipline that student. Cyberbullying could easily be argued as a substantial disruption to the institution and therefore can be limited by a school. I think you should also expand upon a few of your claims to better structure your argument. For example, saying that teachers are not affected is vague and it’s not clear how that fits into your main point. Overall, I think you have a good start and a really good amount of factual evidence to back up your thesis, but you should elaborate on your supporting arguments in order to make your logic more clear. It was also really awesome that you cited court cases to support your idea about the first amendment.

Dear Sebastian:
I am intrigued by your post “Should Schools limit Students online speech” because I fail to see eye to eye with your belief of freedom of speech not having a limit. The reason for this being is because yes it is your first amendment right to say what you want but, you should not be able to say something if it will hurt someone’s feelings.
One sentence you wrote that stands out for me is “The first reason is their was not affect on the teachers” I think this is inaccurate because we saw data that showed how a few teachers started to lose confidence and their teaching effectiveness went down. This really showed that it did have on effect on the teachers and the environment they were creating.
Thanks for your writing. I look forward to seeing what you write next, because I hope to see more of your beliefs and see if we will agree or disagree on more topics.
