I decided to search “Harry Potter” because well, I’m a HUGE HP fan. I’m really glad you decided to write about this absolutely AMAZING book! There are going to be many surprises, that you just won’t believe. I really like the books because they’re full of exciting adventures and… I just love fantasy books. My favorite book is The…[Read more]
your poem left me speechless, I just have one word: BEAUTIFUL! This poem is amazing! I love the part where you said “The ocean waves and breaths of salt enveloped me and so my colors changed. I can’t wait for your next post! ^.^
I strongly agree with your post. Animals are being hurt and harmed. What have the animals done? Many animals are going endangered and its mostly because humans are breaking their home (Such as chopping off trees when bird’s have their home/nest on the trees!) and killing animals. I mean would you want to see your house get removed…[Read more]
I strongly agree with your post, police are harming innocent people, and its gotta stop. Everyone’s lives matter and everyone’s life is equally important. Just because we are a different race it doesn’t mean we should be treated differently. Thanks for sharing your writing. I look forward to seeing what you write next. (Which is…[Read more]
I liked the topics you brought up here. I particularly enjoyed how you said “Immigrants are just as important as American citizens.” This really brings the whole immigration issue back to human rights and human dignity. I would like to know, however, do you have any suggestions for immigration reform? The candidates this election have very different opinions on immigration, and finding a balance that satisfies and respects all people, both American and otherwise, is hard to do.
As for protection of the people, I agree completely. Again, do you have any suggestions on how to achieve this? What has worked in this past and what hasn’t worked? It, like immigration reform, is all about a balance that brings about the best results for the most people.
Thanks for the great insights in your post. I enjoyed reading this.
I really like how you brought up two important issues in this letter. It is clear you are passionate about both. I like the things you said about immigration. It is a very important issue that needs to be addressed. I agree with everything you said. Also, I really liked how you brought up terrorism. It is a serious problem that I believe needs immediate attention. Thank you for expressing your concerns.
This is a youth-powered publishing platform that was started in 2003 by a group of teachers from local sites of the National Writing Project.
We merged several earlier blogging projects. We have found that there are many advantages to bringing students together in one site that lives beyond any particular class. It’s easier for individual students to read and write about their own passions, to connect with other students, comment on each other’s work, and create multimedia posts for each other. Further, it’s been exciting for us to pool our knowledge about curriculum, connected learning, and digital literacies.
There are over 8,000 posts and over 13,000 comments by young people on the site on topics as diverse as the American Dream, Shakespeare, and sports as well as original poems and stories.
Youth Voices is a platform for youth to write about their interests, both in school and outside of school: what they are reading, what their hobbies or future careers might be, what they enjoy in their spare time. Like all of us, students follow our national leadership and form opinions. They are also welcome to write about those topics as well.
Youth Voices is fully non-partisan and welcomes youth of all types, from all regions, and with all viewpoints. Educators support youth in writing and thoughtfully responding to each other through the use of commenting guides, using tags to show common interests, playlists to support self-guided inquiry; opinions expressed by writers are their own.
If being part of such a community makes sense to you, we invite you to join us. We welcome all youth and any teacher interested in having students publish online and participate in the give and take of a social network like Youth Voices.
