Although this seems like an issue that has been going on for some time, is it possible that the higher rates of substance abuse could also be due in part not only in other conditions, but also these somewhat depressing times. Nonetheless I hope more can be done to help minimize the negative effects that come from substance abuse in these communities.

This has given me something of great significance to think about. In these times everyone is looking to make sure they and their families are going to be ok but this element of making sure those around you in your community are ok seems just as important now. It’s sad to see so many people going to darker places during these times.

Dear Nathaniel :
I am amazed by your post, “What is the American Dream” because you explain what the American Dream is for other people in the world or with less. Some other things that come with this American dream are the better opportunities that come with either job or opportunities for studying. One sentence you wrote that stands out for me is: “in America, anyone is able to empower themselves and overcome whatever obstacles that may lie in their path” I think this is incredible because it is telling that when you come to America or that some immigrants come to America they find a good life here. It is true there are a lot of obstacles in the middle of this path but when they overcome those they see that their sacrifices were worth it. Thanks for your writing. I look forward to seeing what you write next because you really made me intrigued by what people who are immigrants look forward to when coming to America. Also, even there are a lot of obstacles does not mean that we should give up so easily knowing that we can do better than that.

I agree with you the dream of an American is freedom and endless choices. I like that quote “It’s not about where you come from, it’s about where you are going”.I like how you mention that every American has a dream coming here. America is a place where people’s freedoms become true or their dreams.I agree with you on this about great America.
