    Great Responsibility in "Sonny's Blues"

It was fun to go in-depth into the characters of James Baldwin's story, "Sonny’s Blues." This is one of my favorite stories I’ve read. I really liked the depth of the characters and their individual journey stories. This is...

    • Hey Mariely your book sounds interesting to me because of the all the action in side the book. When I read your post, it made me think about all the people dying everyday. One thing I’m wondering is who died from the family?

HEllo good morning , today I got to the second chapter of sonny blues . I’ve read about the brothers growing with time and plans for the future , about the father painful story , and sonny plans for his future . While reading I’ve had a feeling that something’s going to happen I don’t know what yet .

GOOD morning , still reading sonny blues . Today I’ve read more about James and sonny childhood and going back into memory lane , which seems to be connecting some dots on certain questions I have or at least to Lynch perspective.

Hello good morning , still reading sonny blues . It’s getting more nostalgic as I read I’m reading about the whole family reunion and how they seem to be getting along after all , it can be rare as to not all families bounce back to being together as they seem to be .

        • I think of your earlier comment about this story being “bittersweet.” I agree that it is a good feeling to see the brothers come together, but there was so much lost over the years, and can that ever be regained?

Hello good morning, as I realized that the last book I was reading was short today I picked another one called “living up the streets” narrative conversations I learned about two Mexican family living Fresno Cali and the kids perspective of their childhood and the micro aggression they went through

Today I chose to read “little things are big” by Jesus colon . It makes you think about the experience black people had to face and question within themselves. But the story ended up being short so I will pick another book

          • Dear Mareli, so far your book reminds me of when there were several fights of people of color where I lived before, it is very interesting and very tragic what happens to some people when they do not know what they are getting into ” the problem ”. It seems that it is fine if that book did not catch your attention but I would like to ask…
