Kenny commented on the post, From Fall To Winter
Dear Angie :
I am amused by your poem, “From Fall To Winter,” because the words said in the poem make me feel like I’m actually there. It also feels nostalgic.
One set of lines that stands out for me is, “The smoke dances out of the grill, Waltzing into the charcoal-colored sky’

Dear Kenny,
I am happy with your poem “A Walk Around The Heights”, because I am also from the Heights. Washington Heights is also my home and you captured Washington Heights perfectly with your poem.
One line that stands out for me is, “Every block is so full of life and music”. I think this line is so amazing because that is exactly what happens. Every block is truly a party and everyone is welcoming and even if you don’t know someone they will treat everyone like family.
Another line that stands out for me is, “Spanish music is all around you”. I think this captures the culture of Washington Heights. Washington Heights is so cultured and it has many cultures and anyone can feel accepted. It is different from any other neighborhood.
Your poem reminds me of a story that I once heard of because the story takes place in Washington Heights. The story was so vivid of music and Spanish and how much a family this neighborhood is and you also say this in your poetry.
Thanks for your poem. I look forward to see what you make next.
