I agree that they were wrong for banning the program since it was very helpful to the students. The students were clearly showing progress in school, they had higher graduation rates , and they even felt wanted there. It wasn’t right for the school board to just take it away from them.

I agree with the fact that they had the courage to continue. This was surprising because even though they were threaten and some even beaten they continued to protest. They were making it clear how bad they wanted changes and how they weren’t going to stop unless those changes were made. I don’t really know how Lemon Grove Incident, A Tale…

I completely agree with the fact that them protesting is empowering because the mexicans were threatened, beaten, and prosecuted but they kept on fighting for their rights, they would not give up until they accomplished their goal for education and nothing, not even violence was going to stop them.

What stood out to me about Taking Back the Schools was that the police and the FBI tried silencing the Chicano protesters. This stood out to me the most because it made me upset learning that they wanted to act like Chicano’s didn’t have rights, that they could be treated inhumanely. On the other hand I found it amazing how the Mexican-Americans…Read More

        • I agree with What stood out to me about Taking Back the Schools was that the police and the FBI tried silencing the Chicano protesters because in the documentary it said that they would send people to infiltrate their groups and they would encourage violence.
          • I agree with you completely because they were even going as far as threatening to kill them or beating them up and if it wasn’t for their bravery the future probably would have been a lot more different than it is now.

It's upsetting how even after all of this having integration and equity is still an issue in some places

I agree with your opinion , i think it was brave for them and for the other mexican-americans to stand up and fight for their rights.

I it is surprising, how they were basically treated as if they weren't human beings to.White people acted like they were superior then them just because of their color.

This really is a big step for them because they were finally deciding to do something about the segregation and show that they have a voice.

Latinos really could not do anything else besides work in fields because discrimination prevented them from getting any good jobs that would help them advance financially

It is surprising that the white people believed only white people were good enough for other jobs while mexicans should only work in industrial and domestic jobs.

          Thoughts

I agree with your statement , ” We are human and all lives matter …” because this is very true the chicano people should not have been treated differently just because of their race, they to are humans beings.
