  • They say we are equal, but we aren’t. Women all around the world have their rights ripped away from them and treated like they aren’t good enough because they are women. This has been seen all throughout his

    • I agree that women are not treated as equals to men in the world and it has been a large issue for a very long time. I like how you ended with a question because it has a lasting effect on readers! Great job with integrating statistics throughout your post as well. Nice job with the post!

Dear Destiny , I agree with your post not many women have the same privileges as men and that should change we women should have a voice everyone should have a voice. This stood out to me because not many people agree that women should be able to do things they wanna do because we are just women and women should just do the women things we are strong and hard working too. Thanks for your writing it really caught my attention.

    • Dear Destiny,

I definitely agree with you me as being female I have asked myself those questions too. But although we are a minority as you may say we will always stand strong no matter what. That’s the best thing about it. One line that stood out to me was where you stated, “Women get paid on average 60-75% of a man’s wage yet they work at least twice as many hours. It’s insane to think a guy will get paid $1.00 in American money and a women will get $0.60-$0.75 cents.” It stood out to me because I didn’t know that was a problem in America I was blown away by this. I love how you post included many statistics it was very informative.

Thank you for sharing this empowering post!

  • I believe very strongly in women rights. Who should say men are superior to women? All around the world women are treated badly. They are abused both mentally and physical. Women also get a lot less options for

  • Wow, this is a very well thought out and organized piece! I can really tell you spent a lot of time diving in to voice your opinion and explaining the story. I also wrote about freedom and how it relates to the book “Huckleberry Finn” and I agreed with all of the points you brought up in this discussion! The piece you wrote help made me deeper…[Read more]

  • I completely agree with everything you brought up. This was also was a great piece that I really enjoyed reading! In my opinion Mark Twain wasn’t being racist in the book “Huckleberry Finn.” He may have came off that way to some but I don’t think that was his intention. I feel he was just trying to capture how it was back then and how people…[Read more]

  • Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain is a great example of freedom I say this because Huck and Jim are both running from society and their community. They are both trying to escape from oppression from others. Huck is

  • I care about the rights of animals, because if I don’t then who will? People are selfish and only think about themselves. We should think about other creatures on this earth because without the other living

  • I love the points you brought up about the book. Good job keeping up with this challenging read.

  • I completely agree with how you connected the quote to a relevant topic. It is very well thought out, good job!

  • I very much enjoyed our piece on discovery. This is a very well thought out piece that made me ponder on some of the comments you brought up. I too would like to travel the world someday. This piece was very spot on because someones choices and decisions they make through out life effect who they grow up to be and they do this through discovery of…[Read more]

  • I completely agree with all of the points you brought up. Us as human beings should focus more on limiting pollution and becoming a more green world. I really enjoyed your take on environmental progression and how we can reduce electricity use and pollution. Another suggestion is the use of electric cars. Anyways, nice piece!

  • Chapter 6-8 pg 23 “Call this a government! why, just look at it and see what it’s like-”

You can tell how southern this book is by this quote. I almost feel like this is hinting at when the south wanted t succeed

  • Animal cruelty. An intentional or unintentional neglect or abuse to animals by the hand of a human. This is the definition of animal abuse some may not now but animal abuse isn’t just intentional abuse, you could

    • Animal cruelty is definitely a problem in today’s society and while reading your essay, I could tell how passionate you are about this issue of animals being treated poorly and less than what they’re worth. I agree that there needs to be more awareness to the problem and more people willing to help the cause.

    • I love all of your ideas, especially about the care of animals you adopt. I would love to see your stance on the fashion industry’s work with fur and environmental issues threatening other animals’ habitats because it goes hand in hand with the cruelties of the cosmetics industry that you mentioned.

    • This text really impacts me. Animal cruelty is still a huge problem in the whole world. I’ve noticed you really care about this issue. That you are an animal lover like I am. And I agree that we also need to put more info about this situation out in the news and change things, because after all, they have feelings as we do.
Also the adoption situation is a plus and I have 2 adopted dogs.

    • Great essay Destiny! You’re stance is head on and I couldn’t agree more. Especially the issue with cosmetic industries testing on animals, I think that is absolutely horrible and animals shouldn’t be dying or in pain just to test safety of a product we could live without in the first place, it’s very sad and many of the companies that aren’t cruelty free are some that i’ve used and I wish I had thought about this sooner. Your essay reminded me of some of the many things wrong with people these days, so thank you.

    • Destiny,
I love all of your ideas, and I think its wrong that cosmetic products are tested on animals. Only things like cures and medical treatment options should be tested on animals because they help save human lives. Cosmetics do not. I personally do not have a problem with people hunting for meat because all sort of pain and suffering exists in nature as well. But hurting animals just for amusement is wrong.

    • Destiny,
I agree with Mary, you can really see how passionate you are about this topic. I think that most of your points and I think it should be talked about more.

    • Dear Destiny,
I’m intrigued by your passion for animal cruelty in whole. I love how you want to make a difference in the world. We can’t stand by and keep watching heart breaking videos hoping that something will change with no effort. An interesting thing you said was,”The act of killing a deer should be the same punishment as murdering a person.” This is very interesting because, it’s clear how strong you feel about this subject. I can sense your pain through the descriptions you use. I don’t know if I would consider the death of deer equal to the death of a human, but I do see where you are coming from. It’s a life form either way and the fact that someone can take a life away from another living is sad. You did a great job of phrasing your opinion.

  • I agree with you, we should focus more on police brutality. You also have some great valid points on this topic.

  • I completely agree with everything you said. Media portrays rape in so many aspects and it isn’t right. Back to when you talked about blurred lines, they played that at the homecoming dance. Which isn’t right to play a song about rape at a school. I also agree we need to make the charge for rape worse like a longer sentencing and parole.

    Dear President,

For the most part presidents do not take time to get involved into the fact that animals don’t have rights. It doesn’t make sense how humans have rights which we are in fact animals and yet e

I agree why not punish someone for hitting an animal but punish someone for hitting a person both have a life and animals are treated horribly why hunt for innocent creatures cause if you hit or shoot or just kill an animal you just killed a human being after all we are animals too,🐯🙈🐆🐘❤️😩

    • You make some valid points in your letter, and I agree for the most part of what you said. Animals are treated unfairly to what rights they have in comparison to ours. So many people hunt animals for fun and call it a sport and that is no way fair for the animals.v

    • I understand where you are coming from but, you have to understand that hunting is a good way to control a population of a species. For Example, in Michigan a lot of people hunt for deer for there meat and the government allows these people to hunt because if we don’t control the population of deer more people would get injured or die from car crashes incident related to deer. How would you feel if a family member got hit by a deer and got injured ? don’t wanna save every deer now huh ?

    • Destiny,
Humans are omnivores. We eat both plants and animals for our survival. The nutrients, proteins, fats found in meat is necessary to keep our bodies healthy. Eating and cooking meat is how we have evolved and developed our brains overtime (https://goo.gl/Le1Ssf). Additionally, I believe receiving punishment for hitting an animal on the road is completely unnecessary. Although we are classified as animals, we can not be compared to any other animal, as we are a highly evolved and intelligent species. Hitting a dog on the road is completely different than hitting a human.

    • save the animals!! excellent writing. 10/10 work

    • You seem really passionate about animals!! Keep it up! P.S. I’m your secret writing pal 🙂

      Dear Destiny,
I am satisfied with your post because I believe that people should be punished for hurting an animal. Animals are not able to defend themselves just like humans can, they are innocent and not to blame for.
One thing you said that stands out for me is “People should have to pay for what they have done, they killed an innocent life.” I think this is exactly what the government should do.
