I was born in China, so the first language I learned was Chinese. As we know, the Chinese include many different dialects. I learned 3 dialects in total, actually I didn’t learn these dialects but I j

Ceming, this is very interesting. I am so impressed by all that you have gone through, it is not easy learning another language! Not to mention being an immigrant and moving to the United States without knowing English. I went on an international service trip, and it is overwhelming being away from home and not knowing the native language, so I applaud you for handling it so gracefully! I think that it is really cool how your culture mixed with American culture has influenced the way you celebrate holidays such as Christmas! I really enjoyed reading your article!

Dear Ceming : I am amazed to hear your post, “Poetic Project,” because it gives many readers a new perspective on how English brings a new scope into a foreigner’s life. The growth you show throughout your paragraph is empowering and helpful to many who struggle with learning English.
One sentence you wrote that stands out for me is: “We celebrate Christmas but not the same as the American people celebrate it.” I think this is different because many people do not understand other holidays different regions of the world have to offer. From Ramadan to the Chinese New Year, we all have something to bring to the table of diversity.
Your post reminds me of something that happened to me. One time while checking out at a retail store, my parents and I talked in our dialect we speak at home and an older Caucasian gentleman came up to my father and said: “This is American, we speak English here”. This caused a flame in my heart because he could never understand the beauty of speaking a different language.
Thanks for your writing. I look forward to seeing what you write next. -
Dear Ceming, I am interested in your post,”Poetic Project”, because it shows how hard and difficult to learn a new language or going to a new place. One sentence you wrote that stand out me is”the Chinese include many different dialects.”I think this is interested because it telling me that there a lot dialects in china and people speak different dialects. This reminds me of an experience I had once that I talk to my Chinese friend and he speaks a different Chinese to me that I didn’t know it was dialects. Thanks for writing I look forward to seeing what you write next, because I want to learn more about what happened to you when you learning English.

Dear Ceming,
I am confused with your story, Friends,” because I want to know why the boy was fighting with you. He was being bullied.
One sentence you wrote that stands out for me is: “ I didn’t do anything to you and I was trying to help you in the morning!” I think this is helpful because you help friends and don’t fight.
Your snapshot reminds me of something that happened to me. One time I see people they throw pen class room.
Thanks for your writing. I look forward to seeing what you write next because it is interesting.
Sincerely,
Yang Kai
