    • Dear Andrew,

I am heartbroken by your post, “The Trauma of Separation,” because of how sad it is that kids are being separated from their families. This topic is really heartbreaking because no kid should ever experience getting separated from their parents. It’s sad that this is even a thing and is continuing to happen all around the world. Kids are supposed to be with their parents.

One sentence you wrote that stands out to me is, “ When they finally reunited, the mother was heartbroken that her son didn’t even know him.” This quote really broke my heart because since kids are being separated from their parents this is what is happening to them. I think this is truly heartbreaking because parents shouldn’t experience their kids not knowing them. Their kids should be with them every second of the day. They should get to experience their kids growing up .

Thanks for your writing. I look forward to seeing what you write next because it is important for people to know about what separation causes. This topic is very important and should be learned about more so we can help prevent these separations.
