• Dear Cristina, your poem was beautiful, i loved how you wrote about your skin color and how you are proud of it. My skin color is also brown (de Piel morena). You had said on your poem that really stand out to me which was “Hay un poco mas significado, Que la importancia de mi indentificacion” I totally agree to it because no matter skin color or…[Read more]

  • Paying for college or a trade school is no easy task. I know that college is pretty expensive, even community college. In my case, I want to attend a cosmetology school named Aveda after I finish with Austin

  • Dear Orlando, I really like the pictures that you took because it reminds me of the times I have been there. I like going to Mount Bonnell too although I just don’t really like going up the stairs, but i agree with you on the part where you said “You get to take pictures wherever you want.” It seems very great when you get to go on a sunny day…[Read more]

  • Dear Jocelyn, I enjoyed reading your story because I can relate to what you are saying, you said “I feel like I wont be able to graduate and feel like time is running out for me.” I can relate to this part because not one time in my school year did I not stress in school and felt that i wouldn’t be able to graduate because i though i wouldn’t get…[Read more]

    • Ana, I completely agree neighborhood safety is important. In addition to the neighborhood and the police that you mentioned, is there anything that you feel would improve the safety around your school and home more so? I also think that is really cool that at your school you have a space to be open and talk about yourself. That sounds like a great outlet to have.

    • Ana, I thought it was really amazing how you discussed neighborhood safety. I don’t think enough people acknowledge how lucky they are to be in a safe area or try to make that a possibility for other. I agree with you that the children in our lives (I have two younger brothers) deserve to be safe. This article (https://www.safewise.com/blog/8-simple-ways-make-neighborhood-safer-place/) talks about different ways to make your neighborhood safer. I really enjoyed reading it and hope you do too!

    • Hi Ana,
I agree that neighborhood safety is very important and is not talked about enough.I grew up in a relatively safe area where I could play outside and go bike-riding with my brother. You writing made me think about how lucky I am to live in an area where that is possible. I also think it is really awesome that your school encourages a positive outlet for you to express yourself!
I look forward to reading more of your writing,

    • hi Ana i have
