Hey Al great poem very deep, after reading your poem I’ve come to believe that this poem is a metaphor for a insecure child. The “featured spikes” on the starfish are his insecurities taking over his body.Eating away at him, slowly sucking his “color” away, looking dead.He lays on his bed, still as a rock, what remains of him can now fit on a child’s hand but is soulless.

I think that this is very beautiful and the fact that this can be interpreted in so many different ways for different people is amazing. I like the structure of your poem a lot and it flows wonderfully and makes the ideas stand out and become more dramatic. I really enjoyed this and I hope that you write more poetry!
