“I am from” Poem
I am from a ghetto city Oakland
Where it’s a very diverse place
Where us Mexican’s are a threat to AmericaI come home to eat beans and rice
And as a women is expected to clean the house
And to be a good role model for my sisterI may not go out with friends
Because my mom is Hispanic
Can’t lie because my mom is like a stalker onlineI am from a well educated family
From society I am expected to drop out
All stereotypes fill my head
I ignore
But it hurtsI don’t let it get in my way
Because how many Latinos and people of color have proven them wrong2 Comments
