    • Dear Abby
I agree with your post,” So, This Sucks.” , because this pandemic does suck but we learn from these situations. One sentence you wrote that stands out for me is: “What I have learned from this pandemic is that life just is not fair” life isn’t fair and we all experience this at some point in our lives but we soon realize that we got to keep moving. There are many things that help us get through these hard times but we also realize to appreciate our family because that’s what this pandemic taught us as well.
Thanks for your writing. I look forward to seeing what you write next.

    • Dear Abbey,
I like your writing of the article “So, this sucks” because this Corona is a pain. It prevented a lot of people’s plans from happening. One point that I liked was when you said “At first, everyone treated the idea of a pandemic as a joke, treated the very idea of Coronavirus as a joke, when in fact it was then and is now, very real”. Yes, indeed a lot of people didn’t take it seriously in the beginning and some still don’t. Hopefully, this epidemic can end soon and we can all go about and have fun again. A lot of kids are missing out on their very first day off school or either their last year of school.
Thank you Abbey for your timely article and hope to read another one of yours soon.

    • Dear Abbey: I am feeling in a similar way about your essay, “So, This Sucks” because I can not go and hang out with my friends during this pandemic. I also feel bad for anyone whose relatives died because of the virus.

One sentence you wrote that stands out for me is: “But it is affecting me, my classmates, and seniors all across the country.” I think this is accurate because for me, I can not celebrate my birthday with my friends, for my classmates, they do not want to have the senior year they wanted, and for the seniors, they would not have the chance to end their seniors like they wanted.

Thanks for your writing. I look forward to seeing what you write next, because I feel the same way you are feeling during this pandemic. I would also like to know if you have any other ways to make this whole pandemic any easier.

    • Abbey I completely agree that this is a huge problem right now in america that has been overwhelmingly overlooked. The ability the superwheacthy has to influence politics is disturbing and the way they can overpower most of the everyday middle and lower class americans is just wrong. The whole idea of super PACs as well is also pretty scary and the fact that high schoolers in government class understand more about the dangers of untraceable money flowing through our political system than most of the country does is also completely wrong. I agree with the idea of constitutional amendments being put into place and also with comprehensive reforms to fix these issues.

Hi Lalo and Elija, I was reading your post and I thought it was an extremely interesting topic. It is very prevalent in our society today as incarceration rates are not decreasing, they are in in fact increasing over 500% in the last 40 years. I would love to read more about what you guys have to say about this topic. Here is something I think…Read More

  • Hi Livia! I completely agree with what you are saying here and I think that it is so important to bring up the topic because I think a lot of the time people hide behind what they are scared of and they do nothing to fight back. • Hi Cora, I loved your article and the solution it proposed. You can really tell you did your research and that you know what you are talking about and want to do what you can to help our planet earth. I think that what you are saying here is very important, after all our country wouldn’t be here without immigrants and we owe so much to them. People who have moved here to escape poverty or injustice in their own country shouldn’t have to risk their lives and then be put in even more danger in the place they dreamed of escaping to. Just because…Read More

  • I really like what you are saying here, it’s not fair to always associate those with a lower socioeconomic status with criminal activity because it is not often the case. But they end up getting convicted of a crime they didn’t commit because they didn’t have the money to afford a good attorney or other forms of help. I think that we should find a…Read More

I agree with Casey! I think you did a great job writing and presenting the important facts, but in some instances come up with ways to solve the problems that are going on and how they can affect everyone and then maybe connect it to other places. Overall you did a very good job and I hope to read more of your writing soon!

  • Charlie this is a great paper!! I really enjoyed reading what you had to say about this topic that definitely concerns us as we are beginning our journey towards being college students and the problem that is looming over our heads is student debt because education costs so much money. • Abbey commented on the post, American Means You

I completely agree with what you are saying here, I think your experience is one that most of us can say that we have had. Being able to have our our opinion and still respecting others is one of the most important characteristics of not only what it means to be American but also what it means to be human.

  • I really love that you’re talking about such an important topic and I can tell you really took the time to research and care about the issue. Most animal experimentation is extremely unethical and not relevant to humans, more people should fight and advocate for animals rights.

    • It feels insane that two people doing the exact same thing can get paid different amounts. Why is equal pay even a question? And its the same for soccer players, and so many other professions.
