On the first day, we took a picture of the whole group. This one was a reject, but I love their candid expressions.
Students were editing their animated introductions in Powtoon.
Abdullah was often working independently on his personal projects of interest.
Rocensky was often working at different pace than the rest of the students. He would come early and stay late, and I love that the program had space for that.
Nicole completed every playlist and badge we assigned her!
Every student presented their work to the class at some point. For students like Haydee, who describes herself as timid and shy, this was a BIG DEAL and we were so happy to see how well she was able to present in a small group.
We often pulled students off the computers to use structured social interaction for language development.
In this shot, students are practicing question formation with each other before writing their 10 self/world questions on the computers.
Chesary and Cesar have opposite personality traits (introverted v. extroverted), and they were one of our strongest partnerships.
There was not a single students in the program that didn’t participate 100%, given their level. Such a pleasure!
