Technology is more and more common in this society. “With the way technology has pervaded every part of our lives, children quickly lean on technology to help them find the answers to everyday questions. Educators are keeping pace with this societal shift to tech-focused living by making classroom learning more engaging and effective with the use of the latest educational technology”(Purdue University). Many schools require students to use their devices during classes and most teachers are using technology when they are teaching. However, many people in the world today cannot live without technologies such as televisions, mobile phones, computers and others. These technologies have slowly taken an essential part in people’s day-to-day lives and being without them would be unimaginable for some of us. So this leads to a question: is technology helping us or hurting us?
Some advantages of technology are efficient communication, easy access to information, improved entertainment, increased productivity, and saving resources. Some disadvantages of technology are human get too lazy to think, less value in human workers so it will cause job loss, and social isolation. For example, when we want to find a definition of a word that we don’t know, we will simply google it. Within a few seconds, we will get our answers instead of spending a couple minutes flipping through the paper dictionary. Nevertheless, because of the reduction of the need of paper dictionary, many companies bankrupted including paper making companies.
The most interesting I found from researches is with the growing of social network, we actually get more isolated. MIT professor and clinical psychologist Sherry Turkle states that social networks “don’t only change what we do, they change who we are”. Social networking services, such as Facebook, Snapchat, provide new opportunities for users to maintain core social networks but there are less and less face to face interactions within family and friends. From my own experiences, during last summer break, many close friends get together but after a while, people started getting on their phones and sending snapchat. So, people should have self-restriction of social media and use technology during right time. In conclusion, if we use technology wisely and correctly, people will benefit from it.

You made a lot of good points when addressing the topic of technology. I really connected to the point where you talked about technology changing the way we communicate with one another. Today, there are a lot more people who rely on technology than there where a few years ago, and people are starting earlier. Hey its Daniel, I was read your article and I really enjoyed what you was decusing. I have the same train of though as you have wriiten in your article. I really like how you compared if technology is good or bad. I belive its both because as you written technology is going take people jobs that is true. Also technology is the future for this generation and there will be better changes in the world. In My opinion I believae that having technology around us and working wth robets instead of peopel will be a weird sititution because how could peopel know what to do or how to work with them.
