In the article, “The Truth About Recycling” (McGraw Hill) I learned that recycling is not really being recycled because all the plastic ends up in landfills. It also ends up in the ocean where animals are harmed or end up eating it. Although recycling does harm it can also help people. It helps people by making helmets for fire fighters, seatbelts, and the incubators that keep premature babies alive. Although it can help it can also lead ocean wildlife to starvation leading them to die.
I think this is really bad because people think they are helping the planet by recycling when in reality the plastic is not being recycled but being thrown in land fills. I also think that is really sad because sea wildlife can die. Plastics and trash are really bad for wildlife animals they can be harmed in many ways. They can choked because of plastic waste and can die. Honestly, recycling should be done but how will we do it if our recycling is being taken to land fills?
