We are four 6th graders teaching you about the rights that immigrants have when they get caught by the police or immigration agents, we want you to feel safe and protected by these rights.

If you are worried about Donald Trump becoming president, and what that might mean for your family, DON’T WORRY! We will help you know your rights so you feel more safe.


  • If an officer or a government official approaches, you have the right to remain silent, and you can refuse to answer any of the officer’s or anyone else’s questions.
  • If police officers or other authorities come to your house you have the right to ask if they have a court warrant.
  • If you are detained, you have the right to contact a lawyer immediately.
  • You can refuse to sign anything without advice from a lawyer.
  • You have the right to refuse to answer any questions regarding your birthplace and your legal status, unless your lawyer is present.


Somos cuatro estudiantes de 6to grado que le enseñan sobre los derechos que tienen los inmigrantes cuando son atrapados por la policía o agentes de inmigración, queremos que se sienta seguro y protegido por estos derechos.
Si usted está preocupado por Donald Trump convertirse en presidente, y lo que esto podría significar para su familia, ¡NO SE PREOCUPE! Le ayudaremos a conocer sus derechos para que se sienta más seguro.


  • Usted tiene el derecho de guardar silencio, y puede negarse a responder a cualquier pregunta del oficial o de cualquier otra persona.
