Chemical waste is regulated by the Environmental Protection Agency through the RCRA
These are their steps for removing chemical waste
- Store the chemical in appropriate containers
- Label the container with the full chemical never and quantity, the date of generation the PI’S name and phone number, the bottle number assigned waste sheet and the label must say “hazardous waste”
- Complete the hazardous waste information form and submit it to the VHS office
