This article talked about low income neighborhoods and high income neighborhoods and studies regarding effects in the future. They focus on Pittsburg, with highly segregated neighborhoods by race and class. Although children can be just blocks away, these studies show that one’s outcome can drastically vary. This article states that“Neighborhoods create a set of experiences, connecting us to certain social networks. Thinking about neighborhoods as contexts of development is probably a helpful way to think about it.” This is precisely what motivated me to choose this question because I think in a similar way and think development in success is routed much earlier than we think.
