In the article, “Actor Makes History at Oscars” I learned that for the second time ever a deaf actor has won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. That person is named Troy Kotsur for his work on the film CODA. The first person win it was Marlee Matlin who first achieved this in 1986 when she won for her performance in ‘Children of a Lesser God’. This is something historical and astonishing because there have been very few to win a Oscar in general and to do it with challenges is impressive.
I think it is very impressive what he has done because maybe he had to work harder than others to get where he is at. It shows because he is one of two people to win an oscar while being deaf.
What do you think you about Troy being the second deaf actor ever to win an Oscar?
