I am from a city of love
A city where success is what all dream of

I’m from a bedroom on
Where I’m capable of any feat

I’m from an apartment that’s somewhat small
But in it, I feel 1,000 feet tall

I’m from a place from which I’d never flee
Because that’s the home of my family

I’m from a people who’ve done amazing things
I anticipate what the future brings

Still, I feel sorrow at all the pain
Those you think with their hate instead of their brain

My sadness tries to eat away
At my joy but it’s here to stay

I’m from the awful things this world can do
But I dream of making a better world anew

These moments make me want to persevere
To make a world without pain or fear

In short, I’m from a world without limits or rules
But I refuse to go down the path of a fool
