In the article, “Hawaii May Lift Travel Restrictions Soon” (McGraw Hill) I learned that Hawaii is the most strict travel restrictions in the country but it may be roping its rules by spring. If a traveler coming from the U.S. enters Hawaii territory then they must present a negative COVID test and prove that they are fully vaccinated but don’t require the booster shot. If infection rates do not surge then the travel restrictions will be lifted. Hawaii’s economy depends on this since they have always depended on tourism.
I think that Hawaii should drop the rules for the mandate since they need tourism since that is what they depend on so that their economy can become successful. There is, on the other hand, the part where COVID can then start to spread more and more if the mandate does get dropped. Even with the percentage of Hawaiians being vaccinated it still means that they will need indoor masking and social distancing. It all just depends on how Hawaii’s government sees it.
Do you think that it is a good idea for Hawaii to fully relax on the travel requirements?
