In the article “Gun Violence” (Amnesty International) I learned In this text is that in America more than 600 people die every day as a result of gun violence because of easy access to legal or illegal firearms. In support of their central idea, the author writes it is driven in part by easy access to firearms whether legal or illegal. This supports the central idea because it shows that lack of attention to this is causing all these people to die every day because someone who shouldn’t have had a gun got a hold of one. The author also writes that it often disproportionately impacts people of color, men, and boys in deprived communities, and other marginalized groups. This supports their central idea because how are people of poor communities getting firearms?
I agree with the cause they are fighting for, I believe that there should be stricter rules regarding who and who cannot own firearms. Even tho someone can have a clean background record it’s more when you look deeper i think Biden’s new law can be a good thing to prevent real criminals from buying weapons.
As I continue to research gun violence I want to learn more about Biden’s law and if it will ever prevent or lower the number of deaths.
